Hello.
I would like to share what I've created today. I got most of my supplies delivered already and decided to make a card for someone very special for me.
My supplies are very limited, but I guess it's the same for every beginner. I had so much fun trying out some techniques I saw in cardmaking tutorials ^_^
I had the whole idea of the card in my head when I saw the sketch challenge on
Newton's Nook Design blog. There were some things when I was choosing my first supplies that became my Must Have. And at least one stamp set from
Newton's Nook was on my list, I totally love this cat. And there we go, it came to me and I just had to use this.
I would like to participate in
Inky Paws Challenge #24.
I changed a bit the sketch, but in my opinion it fits :)
Details about making this card.
I started by coloring my watercolor paper with distress inks to make the night sky. Then stamped 2 cats from
'Newton's Antics' set and colored them with Copics. After that was done I fussy cut cat's and used black brush marker to hide white edges. I wanted my cats to sit on a tree but I didn't have any die to stamp, so I drew it very gently on watercolor paper.. When I was happy with the outlines, I colored it with distress inks and when it was completely dry, fussy cut it. To make it fit the cats more I used the same black brush marker to make color edges. On a small branch, I stamped 'loves mew' from the same stamp set and embossed it.
To finish my card I glued some stars on my night sky, die cut small hearts (btw. my fist die cut, I was so amazed by the results, it's like getting free cookie :D) and put them on card with foam tape to be on the same height as the tree. Added some wink of stella and glossy accent to make it shine. Also added some wink of stella on the noses and ears of my cats. At the very end I decided I want to add some leaves, so just colored with distress inks tiny bits of paper and die cut very few to give it upcoming autumn look.
Sorry, this post turned to be very long, will try to make new ones shorter.
Thank You for reading, any tips and opinions on what I could have done better are very welcome.
Have a great day.
